Check Account Balance in Skyward

Do you have funds on your Skyward Family Access Account? Follow these steps to see!
Ephrata students now eat free all school year thanks to funding from the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), but it didn't used to be that way. Up until the 2019-2020 school year, families paid for school meals through their Skyward Family Access accounts. Some families still have money sitting in those accounts that can be refunded, transferred to pay for fees at school or donated to a family that still owes for student meals. To check your balance, follow the steps below.
-
This is what the login screen looks like:

From the home screen, click the "Food Service" button in the navigation on the left.
NOTE: To see navigation elements, expand your screen or click the "+" button at the top.

Check to see if you have a positive balance remaining on your account or if you owe money to Ephrata Schools.
NOTE: The image below shows balances for two separate students in the same family. To view students individually, click the arrow next to the words "All Students", which appears next to the Skyward logo.

Any balance or debt owed will be in the "Current Account Balance" area.

Cualquier saldo o deuda adeudada estará en el área de "Saldo de cuenta corriente".
-
If the "Current Account Balance" area shows a positive amount, you have the option to:
- Receive a refund
- Request to have funds issued to your student’s school for payment towards past due fees
- Transfer funds to another student who owes money for school meals
- Leave the funds in the account for your student to pay for "a la carte" options available at EMS / EHS or to pay for a second meal
Once you’ve determined the option that’s right for you, send us an email specifying your preferred option and including the following:
- Student’s Name
- Student’s Date of Birth
- Address in Skyward
- Student’s School
- Parent / Guardian’s Name
If You Are Requesting a Refund
Please verify that the address in Skyward is your current address. If it is not, please update it before submitting your request. Learn how to update your address in Skyward.
Note: Checks are issued twice per month.
If You Are Requesting to Have Funds Transferred for Past Due Fees
Make sure your email states whether you would like your fees transferred to your student’s school to pay for fees owed or if you’d like to pay for another student who owes money for school meals. If paying another student’s fees, a family will be selected at random unless a name is specified.
