2022 Levies
Thank you Ephrata, November 2022 Levies Pass
Two new school district levies were approved by voters in November 2022. These measures will purchase four new yellow school buses and provide capital needed to address facility and infrastructure improvements throughout the district.
In 2018, Ephrata Schools made a commitment to keep school bonds and levy taxes close to $4.70 per $1,000 of assessed value. Tax rates will remain at this threshold with the approval of these two measures. If approved, taxpayers will pay a total of $4.68 in 2023 and $4.65 in 2024. Read the November 2022 Levy Press Release.
Proposed Projects
In November 2022, voters considered two new school levies. These measures purchased four new yellow school buses and provided capital needs to address facility and infrastructure improvements throughout the district.
Acquire Four New School Buses
Levy funds will refresh Ephrata's 35-bus fleet, replacing its two oldest buses from the late 1990s, now more than 25 years old.
Transportation & Maintenance Center Upgrades
Built in 1953, this outdated facility now houses 62 Transportation and Maintenance staff who keep schools, grounds, and bus routes running safely.
Construction of Storage Facility
Ephrata currently uses one on-site facility, two rented buildings, and 10 storage containers to meet growing district storage needs.
Field Lighting Upgrades
In 2022, Ephrata found rotten lighting poles at Kiwanis Field. Funds will replace same-age wooden poles at soccer, softball and baseball fields.
