Washington State Healthy Youth Survey
The Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) is a statewide survey given every two years to students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12. It is a collaboration between the Washington State Department of Health, Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, Health Care Authority, Liquor and Cannabis Board and Looking Glass Analytics.
The Healthy Youth Survey gives students a chance to voluntarily and anonymously share about their wellbeing, behaviors, attitudes and experiences at school and in the community. The results help schools, health agencies and community partners understand youth needs, identify trends and improve programs that support young people. Information from the survey guides decisions about prevention, safety, health and youth programs across Washington.
- Who takes the survey? Students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 across Washington.
- When will it be taken at Ephrata Schools? October 20, 2025 at EHS, EMS and Parkway Intermediate.
- Is it required? No. The survey is voluntary and anonymous. Students may also skip any questions they do not want to answer.
