Approve Transportation Building Insulation Bid 
Adam Roduner, Facilities and Transportation Supervisor, presented a $63,607.05 bid from Spray Foam Logistics, Inc. to insulate the district's transportation building. Funded by the voter-approved November 2022 Capital Levy, this insulation upgrade marks one of the final projects under the levy, modernizing a facility originally built in 1953. The project directly improves working conditions and energy efficiency for transportation staff members who keep bus routes running safely.

Appoint School Board Director
The Ephrata School Board appointed Leisha Adams to represent District 4 following an open solicitation for community applications. She fills the seat left vacant by James Adams, who stepped down in June. Deeply committed to the success, well-being, and future of Ephrata students and the broader community, Leisha brings extensive volunteer experience to the role, including serving as Parkway PTO President and Secretary, supporting EHS Choir Boosters, and contributing to several school district committees. Sharing her vision for the role, Leisha noted, "As a resident of Ephrata, I believe that strong schools are the foundation of a thriving community, and I want to contribute my time, perspective, and dedication to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality education in a safe and supportive environment." 

Superintendent Report
In his Superintendent’s Report, Ken Murray outlined the district’s 2026–2027 overarching goals focused on finance, facilities, and the future. To establish a long-term vision, the district is partnering with the North Central Educational Service District to develop a comprehensive strategic plan to guide decision-making over the coming years. Ken shared that kindergarten enrollment is currently down and kindergarten staffing has been reduced by one teacher. This kindergarten staffing reduction was possible due to a teacher transitioning to a different role within the district for the upcoming school year. Ken also informed the board that the district anticipates placing a bond on the February 2027 ballot. To prepare, Ken will host a series of community meetings throughout September and October to gather input before submitting a final recommendation to the school board.
