Ephrata School District Names Aaron Cummings Principal of Parkway Intermediate

The Ephrata School District has named Aaron Cummings as the next principal of Parkway Intermediate School, beginning July 1, 2026.
Cummings succeeds Principal Kim Gilreath, who has accepted a principal position in another district closer to her home. The district thanks Gilreath for her leadership and service to Parkway students and staff and wishes her well in her new role.
Cummings brings more than 30 years of experience in the Ephrata School District. He served as Parkway principal before moving on to EHS where he served as teacher, assistant principal and principal and later as the district’s assistant superintendent. Most recently, he was Ephrata School District assistant superintendent.
“Aaron knows our schools, our students and he knows this community,” said Superintendent Ken Murray. “His experience, relationships and understanding of what makes this school special make him the right person to lead Parkway forward. We are fortunate to have someone with his level of commitment stepping into this role.”
With this transition, the district does not plan to refill the assistant superintendent position. Those responsibilities will be reassigned among district leadership to ensure continued support for schools, staff and students.
As principal, Cummings will focus on supporting staff, strengthening student learning and building on the strong foundation already in place at Parkway. His appointment reflects the district’s continued commitment to placing experienced leaders where they can make the greatest impact for students.
