Celebrating Principal Karla Williams and Her Next Chapter

Tiger Community:
After eight years of dedicated leadership as principal of Columbia Ridge Elementary, Karla Williams has made the heartfelt decision to return to the classroom. Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, Karla will be a fourth-grade teacher at Grant Elementary.
Throughout her time as principal, Karla led Columbia Ridge through both the challenges of the pandemic and the remodel of the school, always keeping students, staff and families at the center of her work. Her leadership fostered a culture of excellence, belonging and growth. While we will miss her as a principal, we are thrilled that she will continue to make a meaningful impact on students every day as a teacher.
A Message from Principal Williams:
“There is a time for everything, and now it is my time to step down as principal of Columbia Ridge Elementary. This has been a difficult decision because this school and our community mean so much to me. The relationships I’ve built, the challenges we’ve faced together, and the special moments we’ve shared will stay with me always.
At my core, I am a teacher, and the classroom is where my heart truly belongs. I am excited to return to teaching as a fourth-grade teacher at Grant Elementary, where I can continue supporting and inspiring students every day. I am grateful for the trust, collaboration, and care of our students, families and staff. It has been an honor to serve as principal, and I look forward to this next chapter.”
More information about the leadership transition at Columbia Ridge will be shared in the coming weeks.
Please join us in recognizing Karla for her years of dedication and the lasting impact she has made on Columbia Ridge Elementary. We are grateful for her leadership and excited for her next chapter in the classroom.
