Ephrata School District Names New Columbia Ridge Elementary Principal

The Ephrata School District is pleased to announce Christopher Jensen has been named as the next principal of Columbia Ridge Elementary. Jensen will begin his new role on July 1, 2026.
Jensen brings more than two decades of experience in education, serving in a variety of leadership and instructional roles. Throughout his career, he has served as a principal, assistant principal, instructional coach and teacher, building a reputation as a collaborative leader who is deeply committed to student success.
Most recently, Jensen served as the principal of Lovell Elementary School in the Big Horn County School District in Lovell, Wyo. where he led school improvement efforts focused on student achievement, systems development and positive school culture.
“Christopher is a relationship-driven leader who understands the importance of building strong school communities where students and staff feel supported, valued and inspired to grow,” said Ken Murray, Superintendent of the Ephrata School District. “He brings a thoughtful and steady leadership style, a strong instructional background and a deep commitment to building collaborative cultures where doing what’s best for kids is prioritized. Christopher has a genuine passion for serving students, supporting staff and partnering with families. I’m excited to welcome him and his family to Ephrata and look forward to the positive impact he will have at Columbia Ridge.”
Jensen holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Chadron State College, a bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Wyoming and an associate degree from Ricks College in Idaho.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Columbia Ridge team and become part of the Ephrata community,” said Jensen. “Having spent much of my life in the Columbia Basin, this region has always felt like home to me. I’m impressed by the pride people have in Ephrata Schools and the strong connection between the schools and the community. During my visit to Columbia Ridge, it was clear that every staff member shares a deep commitment to students and works together as a team to create a positive learning environment. I’m honored to join a school with such a strong foundation and look forward to building relationships with students, staff and families.”
