Ephrata High School (EHS) has officially earned accreditation through spring 2032 from the Association of Educational Service Districts (AESD) of Washington following a comprehensive review process this year.

Accreditation is a rigorous review process that evaluates how effectively a school supports student learning, leadership, school culture and continuous improvement. Schools seeking accreditation undergo detailed reviews of academic instruction, student support programs, community engagement practices and evidence of growth and student achievement.

For students and families, accreditation helps ensure that diplomas are recognized by colleges, universities and employers. It also confirms that educational programs meet established quality standards and that schools remain committed to accountability and continuous improvement.

The accreditation panel recognized EHS for its intentional implementation of systems designed to support students, strengthen school culture and promote continuous improvement. In its official review, the panel specifically commended initiatives such as Tiger Days and the work of 11 school improvement teams that help elevate student voice and support student success.

“This accreditation reflects the student-centered work happening every day at Ephrata High School,” said Superintendent Ken Murray. “Our students, staff and families should be proud of this achievement. It demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and ensuring students are prepared for success beyond graduation.”

Principal Ashlie Miller said the accreditation process provided an opportunity to reflect on the school’s progress and future goals.

“This process allowed us to celebrate the systems and supports we’ve built together while also identifying ways we can continue growing,” said Miller. “I’m incredibly proud of our staff, students and families for the culture we are creating at EHS and for the commitment they show to student success every day.”

EHS earned accreditation for a six-year period with a required third-year progress review scheduled for 2029. The six-year accreditation term is the maximum term granted through the AESD accreditation process.
