It's important to involve families and embrace their differences as they pertain to engagement. Looking through this lens / purpose should allow staff to collect a broader representation of our families and involve them in supporting their learning. This, in turn, allows us to embrace our differences in order to bring our school community together (unity's purpose).

In order to promote the district and school's mission / vision (i.e. Kids & Learning), I must be intentional about fidelity of our instructional practices. This table allows for focus on evidence-based instructional practices within ll areas of elementary education. Writing is a continuation of last year's focus with an emphasis on ELL instruction and integration. This also supports our low language learners coming from a variety of backgrounds. 

Activities include:

• Math: pilot K-5 curriculum
• Writing: monthly focus where staff post student writing on bulletin boards to show the continuum throughout the building
• Science: infusing CER into the writing practice
• SEL: building-wide focus on social, emotional and behavioral instruction in conjunction with new "breakfast after the bell" procedures
• PLC: restructure meeting purpose and expectations
• Grade Level: re-establish team SMARTIE goals

In order to promote the attitude of service and thankfulness as we treat others with love, honor and respect, we will be intentional with our supports throughout the school year. This will be done both formally and informally, as calendared out on our PLC calendar, using the Weekly Staff News and using email interactions.

Activities include:

• Focus: love, honor, respect, thankfulness, service during monthly PLC focus, weekly staff news, every other week emails
• Yearly Self Reflection: all staff will self-reflect on specific guiding questions related to our "focus" 5 times during the year
• Love & Logic training
• Why we exist
• Testing Protocols: teaching all staff to ensure test implementation
