New EHS Boys Wrestling Coach Debuts at Season Opener

Austin Parker

Ephrata High School welcomes Austin Parker as its new varsity boys wrestling coach. Parker will lead the Tigers in their season opener on Thursday, Dec. 1, at home.

“Austin has a strong background in wrestling, not only as a coach, but also as a wrestler himself,” said Bryan Johnson, Ephrata High School Athletic Director. “We’re excited to see what he can do to build on the proven success of our wrestling program. I’ve been impressed with the positive energy with which he started.”

Austin Parker, Varsity Boys Wrestling Coach:
Parker has six years of wrestling coaching experience at the high school and middle school levels. Most recently he served as an assistant wrestling coach at Ephrata Middle School. Parker is a wrestler himself with 14 years of competitive experience.

“I believe that instilling work ethic and determination into young athletes can guide them to reaching their full potential as student athletes,” said Parker. “I’m excited to use my knowledge and experience in this new role.”

EHS wrestling will begin their season at home on Thursday as they take on the Cashmere Bulldogs in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Gym. Boys JV wrestling will start at 6:00 p.m. followed by the girls match at 6:30 p.m., and the boys varsity wrestling match at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets must be purchased online at EphrataTigers.com.
