ESD Launches Community Survey, Announces Bond Listening Session

The Ephrata School District is inviting community members to share their perspectives following the February 2026 bond election by participating in a new community survey.

The survey will remain open through Sunday, April 19, and all responses will be anonymous. Feedback will be used to better understand community perspectives and will be shared with an expanded Facility Study Group as it reconvenes this spring. Community members can access the survey at:

In addition to the survey, the district will host a Community Listening Session on Wednesday, April 22 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the Ephrata Middle School Library. This session will provide an opportunity for those in attendance to share feedback and perspectives with the district regarding the 2026 Bond.

The February bond measure, which sought funding to replace aging school facilities and expand learning spaces, did not meet the required 60 percent approval threshold. District leaders are now focused on gathering input and refining their approach with stronger community engagement.

“This past February was an important moment for our district and community,” said Murray. “It signaled a need for our district to better understand our community’s thoughts and perspectives. With this in mind, we are recommitting to listening carefully and creating meaningful opportunities for engagement. Our goal is for any potential future bond proposal to reflect the district’s and community’s shared vision for our students and schools.”

The district anticipates reconvening and expanding its Facility Study Group to include more representative voices from across the community. Community members interested in participating should email info@ephrataschools.org.

Insights gathered through the survey and listening session will help inform a potential new bond proposal. The Ephrata School Board would consider that proposal later this year.
