Ephrata School District Welcomes New Girls Varsity Golf Coach
Ephrata School District is pleased to announce Tracy Pickeral has been named as the new head coach of Ephrata High School’s (EHS) varsity girls golf program. She has been an EHS assistant golf coach for the past three years.
The EHS girls golf team has grown from one golfer in 2021 to 12 participants last year. This surge in interest led the district to make the strategic decision to split coaching duties between the girls and boys teams. Greg Hewitt, who has led EHS Golf for three years, will continue as the EHS boys varsity coach.
“We’re thrilled to have Tracy step into this new role,” said Bryan Johnson, Ephrata High School Athletic Director. “Her recent experience and passion for the sport, combined with the rapid growth of the girls program, makes this an exciting time for EHS Golf. We’re looking forward to the continued success of our girls team under her leadership.”
Pickeral has three years of coaching experience at the high school level, all at EHS. A graduate of Central Washington University, Pickeral received her Bachelor’s degree in K-8 Education. She has her Masters degree in Education from Washington State University. In addition to coaching golf, Pickeral is a sixth grade math teacher at Parkway Intermediate School in the Ephrata School District. She has been with Ephrata Schools for 11 years.
“I’m excited to take on this new role and look forward to a great season this Spring,” said Pickeral. “I appreciate all the hard work Mr. Hewitt has put into the golf program and I’m excited to continue the amazing Tiger traditions.”
