EHS Teacher a Finalist for STEM Champion of the Year Award
Scott Sandberg, a Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher at Ephrata High School, has been recognized as a Top 3 Finalist for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Champion of the Year award for North Central Washington by the North Central Washington Tech Alliance. The STEM Champion of the Year Award recognizes educators and community members who are committed to fostering STEM learning experiences and promoting STEM pathways for students. Nominated by Ephrata School District CTE Director, Sarah Vasquez, Sandberg has shown tremendous dedication to advancing STEM education in the Ephrata School District.
With more than 30 years of experience spanning both industry and CTE education positions, Scott has passionately worked to ensure students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce. As a teacher, Future Business Leaders of America adviser, Project Lead the Way master teacher, work-based learning coordinator and CTE coordinator for the Ephrata School District, Sandberg has not only been a driving force in expanding career and technical programs but he also actively participates in numerous school district initiatives.
Sandberg's work has made a lasting impact on the educational landscape of the Ephrata School District and beyond, ensuring that the next generation is prepared to thrive in STEM fields.
