Jeremy Vasquez, long-time Ephrata School District employee and current Dean of Students at Grant Elementary School has been named as the new principal of Parkway Intermediate School. Vasquez replaces current principal Dawn Turley, who leaves the district at the end of the school year for a position out of state.
The Ephrata School District recently acquired 40.33 acres of land near the Port of Ephrata for future school construction. The land is intended to assist future school administration as the population of Ephrata continues to grow.
During a meeting with staff today, Parkway Intermediate School Principal, Dawn Turley, announced that she is leaving the Ephrata School District. Turley, who has been in Ephrata Schools for 15 years and served as Parkway Intermediate’s Principal for all of them, accepted a position out of state and is moving to be closer to family. She will remain in her position as Parkway’s principal through the end of this school year.
Ephrata High School (EHS) will have new head coaches for varsity girls and boys basketball this fall. In a school board meeting last night, Alain Black and Rick Walter were announced as the new leaders of the girls and boys teams respectively.
The Ephrata School District is pleased to announce the five individuals and one team that make up this year’s Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. This recognition honors individuals, teams and coaches that performed exceptionally during their time at Ephrata High School (EHS) and through athletic achievements or contributions brought honor to themselves, EHS and the community.
A public hearing on a proposed school board redistricting plan is scheduled for Monday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m.
