Air Quality Plan
At Ephrata Schools, student safety is our top priority. We've made plans to deal with air quality challenges that may affect your student's health while on campus. We've implemented a district-wide air quality plan. Following please find our process and how we will proceed based on current air quality:
- Air Quality will be monitored at regular time intervals during the school day using AirNow.gov
- Decisions for outdoor activities (Recess, PE, Sports) during the regular time checks will refer to the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) Aire Pollution and School Activities Chart
- When the Air Quality Index is 151 or above (unhealthy), outdoor activities will be moved indoors
- If you have a student that falls into the sensitive groups category (i.e. health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart or respiratory conditions, etc.) please communicate with your student's school or coach on your student's behalf.
For any additional questions or concerns, please contact your student's school.
