Instructions for Close COVID Contact

If a person in your child's class, activity, sport or bus route tests positive for COVID-19, you will receive a call and/or email from the Ephrata School District.

Close Contact: If the person is a close contact, a school nurse will instruct you on the steps you must take to protect yourself and others.

Not Close Contact: If your child is not in close contact, you will receive an automated call that asks you to monitor your student's health.

Monitoring COVID Instructions:
Children often have mild symptoms of COVID-19. Please monitor your student and other household members for the following:

  Fever (100.4 +) or chills
  Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  Unusual fatigue
  Muscle or body aches
  Headache
Recent loss of taste or smell
  Sore throat
  Congestion or runny nose
  Nausea or vomiting
  Diarrhea

If your student experiences any symptoms, do not allow them to go to school. Please keep sick people home. Anyone with symptoms should get tested. It is important to call ahead before taking your child to a healthcare provider and to wear a mask when you visit the clinic.

Please help us protect your family and community. If you have questions, please contact your school nurse or the Grant County Health District (509) 766-7960.
